IN MENTAL HEALTH
Prescription digital therapeutics (PDTs) bridge the gap between treatment and everyday life1-3
Welcome to the PDT Pathway—where a new era in mental health has begun
*While drugs are “approved” by the FDA, PDTs are FDA “authorized” or cleared as a software as a medical device (SaMD). All of them are required to have clinical trials as part of the FDA authorization.5
PDTs could help empower your patients to become active stakeholders in their mental health.2,6-9
There is a need for an evidence-based treatment modality to help address gaps in mental health care1,7,8
People living with mental health conditions face many challenges13-15
Stigma profoundly influences psychiatric care, creating barriers to the timely recognition and treatment of mental health disorders.14
There are insufficient numbers of mental health professionals, limiting access to treatment.15
~25% of people with mental health conditions reported that financial and transportation barriers were reasons to discontinue treatment.13
